ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES

BYKOTA

               Room 38
BYKOTA is a Spirit-led class that seeks to balance Bible study, prayer, outreach and fellowship.  Our name is drawn from Ephesians 4:32, "Be Ye Kind One To Another," a teaching we strive always to live up to.  We are mostly Baby-Boomers who are young at heart, but we welcome all the Holy Spirit brings to our class.  Our lessons are in-depth studies of topical subjects or books of the Bible using God's Word as our primary text, focus and final authority.  Recent studies have included "Living in the Light of Christ's Return" and "Holiness in an Unholy World."  Currently we are studying 1st Peter.  We are committed to "walk our talk" by relying on the Holy Spirit to teach us and be our guide.  A powerful prayer ministry, caring outreach and monthly socials are other important facets of our fellowship.

Family Circle

                      Room 33
This is a class of 30-something, 40-something, & 50-something adults. Some regulars are married; some are single. Some have children at home, some have grown children, & some have no children. We sometimes choose sections of the Bible for study, or often choose books for in-class discussion. We like to laugh, share our spiritual successes, & sometimes share our spiritual “what not to dos.” We also relate what we are studying to the real life issues each of us deals with daily.

The Next Step

                    Room 32
We are a college-age & post college/career class. We have studied The Purpose Driven Life, Confronting the Controversies, World Religions, Prayer, & various others. Please let others know that we are meeting!

Inquest

                       Room 35
We are a friendly class in which open mindedness & a sense of humor are important. In a supportive way that recognizes the challenges of living in a secular world, we encourage each other in our everyday lives with Christ. We usually base our studies on a Christian book or discuss current events. Our regulars are all ages, including married couples & singles. We regularly do community outreach projects such as making Salvation Army Christmas stockings for the elderly, helping a local family down on its luck, & preparing bins of food & treats for the disadvantaged.

Loyal Builders

Teachers: Ann Woosley, Chuck Massey, Don Richardson, and
Doug Mason                                       Room 27
This is a mature adult Bible Study class that emphasizes caring & sharing. Our Sunday School lessons are taken from the Old & New Testaments, & we strive to understand these Scriptures as they apply in today’s world. We use a United Methodist recourse called Adult Bible Studies, which follows the International Sunday School lessons. As our name implies, we bring to the class diversity, love, & Christian fellowship. We also strive to be involved in community outreach.

New Beginnings

Discussion Leader: Steve Lewis     Room 34
This is an adult Bible study class with regulars from 20’s to 83 & a variety of personalities, & we welcome anyone who wishes to join us. Using our resource curriculum, our discussions explore the Biblical message & how to apply it to daily life. We encourage everyone to add to the conversation. We are a very caring & concerned class.

Young Adventurers

                         Room 31
The Young Adventurers are an energetic growing circle of friends whose care & concern goes beyond the classroom. Regulars are active both within the church & in teaching, coordinating outreach & planning retreats. Our studies vary from current issues, personal growth, to Bible studies. We are currently studying the video series, “Convergence,” by Donald Miller author of the book “Blue like Jazz”.
