Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me." Matthew 18:4-5
Trinity is a great place for children to grow spiritually because there are plenty of opportunities for learning and fellowship! In addition to our Sunday and Wednesday programs, we have plenty of activities and retreats offered throughout the year.
We follow Safe Sanctuary policies to provide a safe environment for children, youth, and their leaders. We provide training to our volunteers, maintain two adults in each classroom, follow sign in/out policies for 2nd graders and under, and we have church-wide nametags. If you would like a copy of our Safe Sanctuary policy, please contact Cathy Johnson via the church office at 615-896-0413.
What are we learning?

Wednesday, March 25 - Our Wednesday focus will be on the Miracles of Jesus! We will have 5 fun rotations to help us remember some of Jesus' miracles.
Children in Worship
Children are always welcome to stay in the sanctuary throughout the entire worship service. However, we also offer the following services:
(Infant-2 yrs) We offer continuous nursery care throughout our Sunday morning activities. Our nursery workers are trained to provide safe, loving care for your child, including Infant/Child CPR training.
After the children’s sermon, each child 3yrs old-2nd grade is invited to come to children’s church. This service is devoted to helping children appreciate worship, and uses the Godly Play storytelling approach. Bible stories and worship concepts are presented at a foundational level that helps each child worship at their own pace. On the first Sunday of the month, children return to the sanctuary after the sermon and join their families for communion; every other Sunday, children may be picked up in Room 13.
Children’s Worship Resources
At the entrance of the Sanctuary there are children’s activity bags with toys and quiet activities available for younger children 3-6 yrs old. Children's bulletins are also available. Ask an usher for help finding these items.
2nd-6th grade children are welcome to participate in the wonderful responsibility and honor of assisting in worship by becoming an Acolyte, Child Greeter, or a Children’s Church assistant. All roles are on a monthly rotation.
Once a year the children of our church help to lead worship. This special Sunday reminds us of the humility and openness with which we need to approach Christ and our faith. Children’s Sabbath is observed during the month of October.
Children's Activities Throughout the Year
In addition to our Sunday and Wednesday programs, we have plenty of activities and retreats offered throughout the year. Every year, there is a "Trunk or Treat" near Halloween and an Easter Egg Hunt in which the whole church participates. Our older elementary children look forward to our help in sending them to Camp Cedar Crest every summer for a week filled with nature, fun, and faith development, and children of all ages enjoy our Vacation Bible School. We also have regular scheduled activities for our families, including:
Parents’ Night Out
Parents' Night Out is held at the church once a month for children ages 6 months to 5th grade. This ministry provides affordable childcare for a night out for parents in a safe, loving, Christian environment. The children are served dinner, participate in fun activities, and conclude the evening with a movie. The event is held from 5-9 pm one Friday per month. Cost is $10 per child. There is bulletin board in the children’s wing where the date, meal, movie and sign-up sheet are located. You may also sign up by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Families of all ages are invited to join in our Monthly Fun events. From laser tag to cookie baking, taking in a Nashville Sounds game to visiting a local pumpkin patch, there’s always something fun going on with the Trinity Children’s Ministry!
