She is excited to begin work this summer with Trinity United Methodist Church as the Director of Children’s Ministries.  Celia, a native of Wildwood, MO in suburban St. Louis County, has been guiding and encouraging children ever since she stopped being a child herself.  From serving as a preschool Sunday school teacher and working with KinderCare Learning Centers during her teenage years, to recognizing a vocational call to children’s ministry during her young adulthood, working with children has been a constant source of joy in Celia’s life.  Celia holds a Masters of Church Ministries (Christian Education) Degree from the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University (Dallas, TX) and a Bachelor’s Degree in French Literature and Language (minors in Religion and Music) from Transylvania University (Lexington, KY).  Her past employment has included translating prayer materials from French to English for worldwide circulation as the Executive Assistant for the Christian Community Foundation of France, teaching Vacation Bible School and helping preteens experience God as a camp counselor during an internship with Platte Woods United Methodist Church (Kansas City, MO), and most recently, designing children’s ministries and teacher training retreats for Umphress Road United Methodist Church (Dallas, TX) as a seminary intern.  Celia looks forward to getting to know the families of Trinity UMC and of Murfreesboro, and journeying with their children as they explore the Christian faith.
